First off, the pores of our feet are some of the largest pores on our body, which means that they can absorb more of the oil than other parts of our body. By putting essential oils on the soles of your feet, you are able to benefit from so much more of the qualities of the essential oils. The skin on the soles of your feet is also so much less sensitive than the rest of your body. Whereas you might have to worry about the solution that you’re putting on your skin, the chances of it bothering the skin on the soles of your feet is very unlikely.
There are plenty of other benefits that you can see just by putting the essential oils that you’re using on the bottom of your feet. This part of your body can be used to absorb nearly any essential oil blend or any stand alone oil that you enjoy. It’s especially good if you have just been on your feet for hours. Simply massage 2 to 3 drops of oil onto your feet and let your body reap the benefits.
It can be nerve wracking to put anything on your face, especially when you’re not sure how your skin will react, but when it comes to essential oils, a little bit of dilution is all it takes for this to be an incredible product with even better results. The face is often used for issues that will be closer to the upper half of your body. For instance, headaches, anxiety, runny noses, and the like.
Because there are so many different issues that essential oils can work to improve, it’s not uncommon for them to be put on the face. That being said, there are also quite a few places on the face that it can be added to. For example, when trying to alleviate headaches, it’s common for people to put the essential oils across the forehead or rub them into the temples. With colds, you can put a solution of essential oils underneath the nose, so that you can constantly breath it in. And for anxiety, you can put it in any of the above places and notice the calming effects come in waves.
For any issues that deal with stomach pains or digestive organs, rubbing essential oils onto the abdomen is a good idea. The pores on your stomach are also larger than the ones on other areas of your skin, but they’re also so much closer to the actual issue that when the essential oils are absorbed into your skin, they can go right to the source of the issue.
Because of the complexity of the stomach and the digestive organs, it might take a little longer to see the benefits of the essential oils added here, but the benefits will be noticed none-the-less.
If you’ve ever had a bad cold then you know the best thing you can do is add a little bit of vaporub to your chest. It’s as if it completely opens up your lungs and sinuses and allows you to breathe life back in. Well, the same goes for essential oils, so long as you’re using the right blend.
The chest is an incredible place to add a blend if you are stuck with a cold or cough, or are having a tough time breathing. Simply dilute the oils and rub them into your chest in a manner that is similar to a massage. This should help loosen up the area and leave you feeling great!
While these are some of the more common areas to use essential oils topically, these aren’t the only places that people will add them. Some people will add them to the skin directly over their muscles if it’s sore or tight, while others will add them to their hands, legs and other limbs to relieve arthritis, work sore muscles and reduce pain. When you decide to use essential oils in a topical manner, you need to make sure that you remember a few things.
The weight of essential oils is light enough for them to be absorbed into the skin, but sometimes the overall fragrance of the oils can become so overwhelming that it actually counters the initial issue. To be safe, it’s always good to add several drops of water to the essential oils and then reduce water if it doesn’t irritate you.
Massage Them In
As we mentioned before, essential oils are light enough that they can be absorbed into your skin and provide you with all of the benefits that you need. One of the best ways to make sure that they really get absorbed into your skin is by massaging them. This will not only get the oils deep into your pores for absorption, but it will also benefit you by simply massaging the area that is hurting you.
While the chances of there being a reaction are entirely dependent on the person that’s using them, it’s always a good idea to recognize when your body is reacting a certain way to essential oils. If your body has a rash, doesn’t react well or it gets even more irritated because of an essential oil, then you can at least recognize this early on and avoid using it later on.
Aside from that, you can also make note of the essential oils that provide you with great results and leave you feeling incredible after the fact. If there is a certain blend or oil specifically that provides you with great results, then you should keep it handy just to ensure you’re always prepared.
As with any type of health aid, essential oils work best when they’re used consistently. If you continue to feel pain in a specific area, then you should continue to use essential oils, especially if they work. By doing so, you provide your body with the resources it needs to thrive, each and every time. If a blend or oil doesn’t work for you, do your research or asking a fellow fan of essential oils for advice on what has worked for them.
